April 30, 1944: Croatian-French Molecular Biologist Miroslav Radman Was Born
Miroslav Radman (April 30, 1944 – present) is a prominent Croatian-French molecular biologist specializing in DNA repair. Together with Evelyn M. Witkin, Radman set basis for the discovery of SOS response of DNA. He named and published the discovery of SOS response and DNA mismatch repair in 1975, and significantly contributed to the research in DNA repair mechanism.
