BIO 2023 Coming to Boston, with Over 60 Taiwanese Organizations to Share their Achievements
[Taipei – May 30, 2023] – The Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries Promotion Office, Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taiwan announced today that more than 60 industry, academic, and government organizations will attend the upcoming 2023 BIO International Convention on June 5-8, 2023, in Boston, Massachusetts.

BIO 2023 Coming to Boston
BIO International Convention is the world’s largest international biotech industry exhibition and forum organized by the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) in the U.S. every year, which is the annual main event of the global biopharma sector. After nearly three years of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 4-day in-person event resumed last year with 1,140 exhibitors from 42 countries and 15,000 visitors, together with about 47,000 partnering meetings and over 100 seminars.
This year, the event will be held in Boston with the theme “Stand Up For Science, Stand Up Together” and is anticipated to feature more than 1,100 exhibitors from over 60 countries, including more than 100 regional pavilions. In addition, more than 800 speakers from around the world will present more than 130 seminars across 17 focus areas of the biopharma industry. BIO’s one-on-one partnering platform will also facilitate meetings with biotech business executives, business development leaders, and investors from premier firms around the globe, enabling incomparable partnership opportunities.

Over 60 Taiwanese Organizations to Present at the 2023 BIO International Convention
In BIO 2022, the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries Promotion Office (BPIPO), Ministry of Economic Affairs, organized the Taiwan Pavilion, bringing together 54 Taiwan organizations and showcasing achievements and innovations of Taiwan’s thriving biomedical industry.
This year, in BIO 2023, the Taiwan Pavilion is coming back with over 60 participating companies and organizations, covering fields of new drug development, contract development & manufacturing organizations (CDMO), regenerative medicine, agricultural biotechnology, medical devices, precision medicine, and smart health. In addition, over 900 business matchmaking sessions will be held in the Taiwan Pavilion during the 4-day convention.
The Taiwan delegation participating in BIO 2023 will consist of about 150-200 members, including representatives from the Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs (led by the Deputy Director General), National Science and Technology Council, Council of Agriculture, National Development Council, Academia Sinica, and Ministry of Health and Welfare. There are also core members of the Taiwan Bio Industry Organization (Taiwan BIO) and the Development Center for Biotechnology, together with leaders from academia, biomedical industry and scientific research.
