Clean Energy Fuels Begins RNG Production at East Valley Cattle Dairy Facility
Clean Energy Fuels Corp. began producing renewable natural gas (RNG) at the East Valley Cattle dairy facility this week. The project captures methane emissions from the dairy’s livestock and converts the gas into a fuel source for heavy-duty transportation.
The East Valley Cattle operation ranks among the largest dairies in the United States, providing a significant volume of organic waste for the conversion process. Clean Energy installed specialized infrastructure at the site to collect manure, process it through anaerobic digesters, and refine the resulting biogas into pipeline-quality RNG. The company then transports this fuel to its network of fueling stations across the country. This initiative aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by preventing methane from entering the atmosphere and replacing traditional diesel fuel in commercial trucking fleets.
