Eli Lilly to License Sonefpeglutide from Hanmi Pharm in Deal Worth Up to $1.26 Billion

Eli Lilly and Company and Hanmi Pharm have entered into a licensing agreement for the development, manufacturing, and commercialization of Hanmi’s drug candidate, sonefpeglutide. The agreement grants Lilly exclusive worldwide rights, excluding Korea, and is valued at up to $1.26 billion.

Under the terms of the agreement, Lilly will be responsible for the future development and potential commercialization of sonefpeglutide outside of Korea. Hanmi Pharm will receive an upfront payment and is eligible for milestone payments based on the achievement of specific development, regulatory, and commercial goals, potentially reaching a total value of $1.26 billion. Sonefpeglutide is a biologic drug candidate currently under development.
