FDA Seeks 1,600 New Employees to Fill Remaining Vacancies After Hiring 600 Staff

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is currently recruiting 2,200 new employees to bolster its workforce following a period of significant staff reductions last year. Interim agency leadership has already secured 600 of these hires and continues to seek an additional 1,600 personnel to fill vacancies across the organization.

This hiring initiative follows more than a year of high attrition rates that impacted the agency’s staffing levels. Leadership at the FDA initiated this recruitment drive to rebuild the workforce and address the internal effects of the previous staff cuts. The agency is now working to restore its operational capacity as it moves forward with these staffing efforts.
