Florida Atlantic University Receives $1.5 Million to Establish Ubicquia Innovation Center for Intelligent Infrastructure

Florida Atlantic University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science has received $1.5 million in funding to establish the Ubicquia Innovation Center for Intelligent Infrastructure (UICII). The endowment, provided by the Aaron Family Foundation and Fort Lauderdale-based technology company Ubicquia, Inc., will support advancements in intelligent infrastructure research and development. The center aims to focus on innovative solutions that address challenges in urban infrastructure, leveraging cutting-edge technologies.

The Ubicquia Innovation Center will serve as a hub for research, collaboration, and education in intelligent infrastructure systems. It will explore areas such as smart city technologies, energy efficiency, and sustainable urban planning. The funding is expected to enhance FAU’s capabilities in these fields while fostering partnerships between academia and industry. This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to integrate technology into urban environments to improve functionality and sustainability.
