3DforScience, a science visualization company, has announced DNAverse, a unique project to create a NFT collection of artwork incorporating DNA data. In a historical first, the NFTs will draw inspiration from the human genome and proteome. Each NFT will be a handcrafted customised artwork which incorporates a unique feature of the collector’s own genome as interpreted by an artist.

NFTs are Non Fungible Tokens, a new asset class on the blockchain market which enables any digital file to be owned, traded and acquired as you would with company stocks. They are gaining widespread popularity with tweets, videos, artwork and other assorted digital files being traded as NFTs for millions.

The first DNAverse collection will visualise 200 cryptoproteins that are considered essential for life and 3000 DNA passes to create 3200 NFTs. This is made possible by 3DforScience’s experience with artistic rendering of biomolecules based on experimental and modelling data to create graphics which can help science storytelling.

Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Madrid, Spain, 3DforScience is a science imaging company, specializing in life sciences with a team of scientists, animators and graphic artists to develop visual communication tools to tell compelling yet simple science stories without compromising on the rich complexity of life at the cellular level. The company produces effective animation for biology, oncology, medical instrumentation, neuroscience, cardiology, immunology etc.

“Our mission is to replicate life and open a new way for humanity to thrive in the Metaverse,” states David Torrico, Art Director and co-Founder, who adds: “This is just a disruptive first step in our roadmap. DNAverse aims to preserve the essence of life and connect our souls to virtual worlds by blending both worlds organically and artistically.”

DNAverse to BIOmetaverse

Javier M. Floren, CEO & Co-Founder of 3DforScience and DNAverse, comments: “This is a historic milestone that enhances future digital relationships, which is precisely what makes DNAVERSE disruptive, meaningful and scalable. In the near future, we all will be surfing web 3.0. Our vision is to humanize the Metaverses with verified-as-humans profiles that will carry our own genetic personalization, distinguishing us so from AI bots.”

DNAverse, a unique collaboration of art and science, is expected to initiate the BIOmetaverse, a version of the virtual reality ecosystem validated by individual biological and real world data to provide solid proof within the blockchain to distinguish between bots and actual humans interacting in the metaverse, while creating unique and sophisticated works of art for the collector.
