A recent study conducted by AvePoint in collaboration with Omdia has identified governance and compliance concerns as the primary obstacles to artificial intelligence (AI) adoption among managed service providers (MSPs). The research highlights that while MSPs recognize the potential benefits of AI, challenges related to regulatory requirements and data management are hindering widespread implementation. These findings shed light on the complexities faced by MSPs in integrating AI technologies into their operations.

The report outlines several key factors contributing to these barriers. Governance issues, including ensuring proper oversight and accountability for AI systems, were cited as significant concerns. Compliance challenges, particularly adhering to evolving regulations surrounding data privacy and security, also emerged as critical hurdles. Additionally, MSPs expressed apprehension about maintaining transparency in AI decision-making processes and mitigating risks associated with biased or inaccurate outputs. Despite these challenges, the study notes a growing interest among MSPs in exploring AI solutions to enhance efficiency and drive innovation within their services.
