Johnson & Johnson Deploys APAC Territory with New Headquarters in Singapore

On May 10, 2018, Johnson & Johnson officially announced the opening of its new Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore. The new regional headquarters features in three pivot facilities—a design Lab, a leadership Lab and the company’s first international Johnson & Johnson Human Performance Institute.

Overseeing the current issues in healthcare system and a resource imbalance between different regions, Johnson & Johnson upholds its company Credo of delivering “social responsibility” when setting up this headquarters in Asia Pacific region to target the regional population and to create adaptive products and solutions for the region.

Housed in the Singapore Science Park

The new headquarters is located in one of the most prestigious R&D and technology development centre in Asia, the Singapore Science Park. According to the official press release from the company, this new facility will be the hub for more than 1,400 employees including pharmaceutical professionals, medical devices developers, and consumer businesses personnel.

Establishing the First of Many

The three departments of the new headquarters hold first in Asia in several dimensions. The Leadership Lab is its first international Leadership Lab outside of the United States, and is a training facility aimed at fostering development of healthcare leaders. Looking at delivering around 200 classes to 4,000 Asian leaders annually both on-site and online, the company expects this Leadership Lab will an innovative platform to drive connection between healthcare professionals from universities, research institutes, governments and other healthcare organizations, and for global experts to collaborate on current challenges.

The Design Lab housed in this new headquarters is also the first one outside of New York City. Johnson & Johnson positions this Design Lab as a regional pipeline of products designed in Asia Pacific, but its products and services will not be limited to serve the region and but other countries around world as well.

Last but not least, Johnson & Johnson Human Performance Institute is the first such facility outside of the United States. Being aware of the stress issues in Asian workplace, Johnson & Johnson asserts its responsibility for safeguarding health and well-being of its employee. The Human Performance Institute is operated based on science-based energy management training to help individuals, teams and organizations to maintain a holistic well-being and to achieve premium performance.
