Lingnan University’s CREW Intelligent Wheelchair Wins Top 10 Technological Innovation Award at Shenzhen Robotics Competition

The CREW Intelligent Wheelchair Control System, developed by the Humanitarian Technology team of the Lingnan Entrepreneurship Initiative (LEI) at Lingnan University, has been recognized with the “Top 10 Technological Innovation Award” at the inaugural Shenzhen Health & Elderly Care Robotics Competition. The award was presented during the Shenzhen International Intelligent Elderly Care Industry Expo, which highlights advancements in technology aimed at improving elderly care and health services.

The system, designed to enhance mobility for individuals with physical disabilities, is a product of collaborative efforts within Lingnan University’s Office of Service-Learning. Key contributors include Professor Albert Ko, Director of the Office of Service-Learning and LEI; Mr. Bob Yu Ting, Senior Control Engineer; and Mr. Adrian Lo Chun-kwong, Product Design Lead. The recognition underscores the innovative approach taken by the team in addressing challenges faced by elderly and disabled populations through intelligent robotics solutions.
