MUFG Bank Finalizes $3.6 Billion Financing for Delfin LNG Floating Vessel

MUFG Bank has finalized a $3.6 billion financing agreement to support the construction and deployment of Delfin LNG’s first floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) vessel. This capital injection provides the necessary funding for the project’s initial phase, which aims to establish offshore natural gas processing capabilities in the Gulf of Mexico.

The financing package covers the engineering, procurement, and construction costs associated with the vessel, which will serve as a floating terminal for liquefying and exporting natural gas. Delfin LNG plans to utilize this infrastructure to process gas sourced from domestic pipelines for international distribution. The project represents a significant development in the company’s broader strategy to expand its export capacity through modular, offshore facilities. MUFG acted as the lead arranger for the transaction, securing the funds required to move the vessel from the development stage into active operations.
