New Approaches to Effectively Manage Hemophilia in Pregnant Women
Hemophilia is a X-linked hereditary bleeding disorder characterized by an absent or decreased coagulation factor VIII (FVIII) in Hemophilia A (HA) or factor IX (FIX) in the case of Hemophilia B (HB). Caused due to a recessive X-chromosomal inheritance pattern, mostly men are affected while their female relatives generally serve as carriers of hemophilia. In terms of numbers, the prevalence of hemophilia is approximately 1 in 5000 males.
