Otis Expands Gen3 Elevator Modernization and IoT Platform to EMEA Region

Otis Worldwide Corporation announced the expansion of its Gen3 elevator modernization solutions to the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region on Tuesday. This initiative allows building owners to upgrade existing elevator systems with the company’s digital-native technology, integrating the Otis ONE IoT platform to provide real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance capabilities.

The modernization process replaces legacy elevator components with the Gen3 system’s hardware, which includes connected controllers and sensors. These components transmit performance data to the cloud, where Otis technicians analyze the information to identify potential mechanical issues before they result in service interruptions. In addition to the digital upgrades, the modernization package offers aesthetic customization options for elevator cabs, including new lighting, fixtures, and materials. Otis designed these solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce the physical footprint of elevator equipment within existing building structures.
