PG&E Customers in California to Receive Spring Climate Credit on April Bills

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) customers in California will soon receive financial relief on their energy bills through the Spring California Climate Credit. The credit, part of a state program aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, will automatically appear as a line item on eligible customers’ utility bills. Residential electric customers can expect to see the credit applied during their April billing cycle.

The California Climate Credit is funded by fees paid by industries under the state’s cap-and-trade program, which is designed to combat climate change by limiting carbon emissions. The initiative distributes these funds back to consumers twice a year, in spring and fall, as a way to offset energy costs and encourage sustainable practices. PG&E has confirmed that all residential electric customers are eligible for the credit, with no action required on their part to receive it. The exact amount of the credit varies each year based on program funding levels but is uniformly distributed across all qualifying accounts.
