Plug Power has been chosen to provide a 275-megawatt GenEco electrolyzer system for Hy2gen’s Courant decarbonized ammonium nitrate project located in Baie-Comeau, Québec, Canada. The selection marks a significant step in the development of the facility, which aims to produce green hydrogen as part of its operations.

The GenEco electrolyzer system will play a central role in enabling the production of green hydrogen at the site. Green hydrogen is expected to serve as a key component in manufacturing decarbonized ammonium nitrate, which is widely used in fertilizers and industrial applications. Plug Power’s technology was selected for its capacity to support large-scale hydrogen production while aligning with sustainability goals. The project represents an effort to reduce carbon emissions associated with traditional ammonium nitrate production processes.
