A recent study has explored the use of 3D simulation technology as a tool to enhance cultural empathy in nursing education. Researchers Almutairi, Alodhailah, and Alahmedi conducted the quantitative study to examine how immersive simulations can influence nursing students’ understanding and sensitivity toward diverse cultural perspectives. The findings are set to be published in an upcoming issue of *BMC Nursing*.

The research highlights the increasing importance of cultural empathy in nursing within a globally interconnected society. By utilizing 3D simulation technology, the study aimed to provide students with realistic scenarios that mimic interactions with patients from various cultural backgrounds. The researchers analyzed data collected during the simulations to assess changes in students’ levels of cultural awareness and empathy. This approach aligns with efforts to prepare healthcare professionals for culturally competent care in diverse settings. Further details about the methodology and results will be available upon publication.
