University of Manchester Student Develops Lightweight Multinex AI for Low-Light Image Enhancement

Alexandru Brateanu, a third-year computer science undergraduate at the University of Manchester, has developed a new artificial intelligence model called Multinex designed to enhance low-light imagery. The tool processes dark, grainy footage to produce clearer, more detailed visual output while maintaining a lightweight architecture.

The model functions by applying specialized algorithms to improve image quality in environments with minimal lighting. By focusing on an ultra-lightweight design, the software aims to perform these enhancements without requiring the extensive computational power typically associated with high-end image processing tools.
