Voyager Space to Acquire Lunar Logistics Firm Astrobotic Technology
Voyager Space announced on Tuesday that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Astrobotic Technology, a move intended to integrate Astrobotic’s lunar logistics and space infrastructure capabilities into Voyager’s existing operations. The transaction aims to consolidate resources for upcoming lunar missions and expand the combined entity’s role in supporting NASA’s Artemis program and other commercial space initiatives.
Astrobotic, based in Pittsburgh, specializes in the development of lunar landers, rovers, and navigation systems, including the Peregrine and Griffin lander programs. Under the terms of the agreement, Astrobotic will operate as a subsidiary within the Voyager Space portfolio, maintaining its current facilities and workforce. The acquisition combines Voyager’s experience in space station development and satellite technology with Astrobotic’s specific expertise in lunar surface delivery. Both companies stated that the integration will focus on streamlining the supply chain for lunar exploration and increasing the frequency of payload deliveries to the moon’s surface. The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the deal, which remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
