WHO Sounds Monkeypox Alarm as Cases Continue Rising Worldwide

Since coming to light in May this year, confirmed monkeypox cases have continued to rise in the multi-country outbreak, with a recorded 7,000+ cases worldwide as of July 7. Director-General at The World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said that the organization remains concerned about the spread of the virus and that an emergency committee will reconvene on July 18 or sooner if the circumstances worsen.
