May 18, 2001: Gruber Prize in Genetics Established

Founded on May 18, 2001, the Gruber Prize in Genetics was established by the Gruber Foundation, a non-profit organization based at Yale University. It is one of the few international awards dedicated to genetics and genetic research, and offers prizes up to US$500,000 to its laureates.
