Assembling the Aging Trajectory of Immune Cells with Single Cell Sequencing

In a recent study published in Nature Aging, a team from Jinan University, China, showed an age-dependent accumulation of transcriptome heterogeneity and variability in immune cells. In particular, a subgroup of monocytes with a high expression of specific long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is closely associated with the immune decline related to frailty.
