The opening session of BIO-Asia Taiwan 2022 featured a presentation by Professor Shinya Yamanaka from Japan. Prof. Yamanaka, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine in 2012 for his iPSC research, discussed the future vision of popularizing iPSC technology with the title “Top iPS Cell Technologies at Affordable Prices”.

CiRA’s Three Major Strategies for Accelerated Production of iPSC

The CiRA Foundation (Center for iPS Cell Research Application, Kyoto University), a leading regenerative medicine research institute in Japan, was established through the efforts of Prof. Yamanaka to shorten the gap between research and industry in iPSC technology. CiRA has three main strategies to facilitate the advancement of therapeutic applications of iPSC.
