Brazil’s Evolving ESG Landscape from the Amazon to Atlantic Forest

Despite the division and upheaval that Brazil has braved in the past few years, the nation has demonstrated a renewed commitment to ESG standards and responsible policies. The republic's 1988 federal constitution has legal guarantees already aligned with the ideas behind ESG, particularly as reflected in articles 1 through 3. 

In this same sense, the constitution guarantees an economic order based on valuing human labor, enterprise, environment, and social rights. These ideals manifest in a variety of policies and cultural norms regarding environmental stewardship, labor, and social rights for both citizens and enterprises.
