Technique and Challenges in Metabolomics: Brief Interview with Dr. Dominique Rolin, Professor at Bordeaux University
study of chemical fingerprints that came along with cellular activities. The collection of all metabolites in a biological cell, tissue, organ or organism can be called the metabolome, which are the end products of cellular processes. Scientists use this profiles to explore the physiology at cellular level, and also work hard on integrating proteomic, transcriptomic, and metabolomic information in order to provide a better understanding of cellular biology.
In March 2018, Dr. Dominique Rolin, the Professor at the University of Bordeaux, an expert in metabolomics and fluxomics, came to the National Taiwan University (NTU) to present at the NTU GIP-TRIAD Biotech Medicine Industry Seminar. Dr. Rolin talked about the revolution in biotechnology and the metabolomic challenges that French scientists are facing right now. After the session, GeneOnline invited Dr. Rolin for an interview to share his insight about metabolomics and fluxomics.
