How Liquid Biopsies are Helping in Detection of Cancer Relapse?
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) are a rare subset of cells found in the blood of cancer patients, functioning as a seed for metastasis. Identifying them early on with liquid biopsies can help determine the occurrence of relapse. At the AACR virtual conference, Dr. Alberto Bardelli, Dr. Caroline Dive, and Dr. Sarah-Jane Dawson discussed how CTCs can be used to identify tumor evolution and minimal residual disease.
