China Pushes for Faster Approval for Gene-Edited Crops

In a bid to expedite approvals for gene-editing in plants and enable faster development of GM crops, China announced revised guidelines for obtaining approval for gene-edited crops. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs published a preliminary version of the rules on 24 January, 2022 and has attracted the attention of many scientists.
