November 11, 1942: Celebrate the Birthday of American Oncogeneticist Robert Weinberg

Robert Allan Weinberg (November 11, 1942 – present), American oncogeneticist, is a professor for Cancer Research at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His research is in the area of oncogenes and the genetic basis of human cancer. Weinberg discovered the first human oncogene Ras and the first tumor suppressor gene Rb, and erectd a fundation for the study of cancer genetics.
