November 25, 1857: English physician Sir Archibald Edward Garrod was Born

Sir Archibald Edward Garrod (November 25, 1857 – March 28, 1936) was an English physician who pioneered the field of inborn errors of metabolism. He also discovered alkaptonuria, understanding its inheritance, and proved that the laws of Mendelian inheritance is applicable to human genetics.
