December 23, 1954: The First Successful Kidney Transplantation in Human

On December 23, 1954, American physicians Dr. Joseph Murray and Dr. David Hume completed the first human kidney transplant in Boston’s Brigham Hospital in Boston, transplanting the kidneys from one of the twin brothers to another, and confirmed that organ transplantation between genetically similar relatives will have less rejection problems.
