HTC Releases New AI platform DeepQ and VR Technology

2019 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP 2019), the flagship international conference in the field of image processing in the IEEE Society, was held in Taiwan for the first time in 26 years, from September 22-25, 2019 at Taipei, Taiwan. Google, Facebook, Qualcomm, Tencent, Microsoft and other technology giants all participated. HTC’s healthcare division also attended the conference and unveiled the latest medical imaging platform, the DeepQ AI platform. Edward Chang, President of Research and Healthcare (DeepQ) at HTC, pointed out that, instead of investing a lot of labor, the best way to implement AI in the practical medical industry is to “let AI master AI”. As AI tools become smarter, medical staff can leverage their clinical experience and knowledge to lead the development of deep learning models. When every doctor can build his own AI application, there will be a thorough change. In addition to AI, DeepQ has made significant breakthroughs in medical surgery, educational Virtual Reality (VR) technology and blockchain technology. DeepQ’s products for medical VR-assisted brain tumors have been licensed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, showing its potential in medical applications. MedXchange, a medical information exchange platform developed jointly with Stanford University and National Taiwan University, has been tested at Stanford University School of Medicine.
